Stephen Foster


Stephen Foster is an associate in the firm’s Columbia office. His practice primarily involves commercial litigation, insurance defense, and various tort matters.

Before the firm, Stephen was the Deputy Chief Staff Attorney for the Supreme Court of South Carolina.

In addition to his time at the Supreme Court, he owned a solo practice.

Before pursuing a legal career, Stephen served as a Green Beret in the United States Army Special Forces and is a veteran of the Iraq War.

What is it like working with you?

I enjoy getting to know each client and developing a strategy that best suits their individual needs and goals. I strive to create a collaborative environment focused on working as a team to achieve the best possible outcome in every case.

What do you consider to be some of your unique strengths?

As a former soldier, I am very mission-focused. I developed invaluable skills in planning, strategy, and executing goals that apply equally well to complex cases and legal challenges.

Are there any special achievements or qualifications that enhance your contribution to your practice areas?

As the former Deputy Chief Staff Attorney of the Supreme Court of South Carolina, I was very fortunate to work for the top legal minds in our state. That experience allowed me to develop a broad and deep knowledge of the law I use daily in my practice.

In general, would you say that you are highly devoted to your career?

Absolutely. I am incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to work with exceptional attorneys as we help clients navigate and resolve their cases. It is immensely gratifying to help people and businesses navigate the litigation process, which can often be a difficult and trying experience.

In My Spare Time


In my spare time, I spend time with my son, Aiden. We enjoy traveling, the outdoors, playing the guitar, doing art, and having other adventures.
